Description
Fun Forest was Seattle Center’s resident amusement park, operating from 1962 to 2010. It began as the “Gayway” during the Century 21 Exposition (Seattle’s 1962 World’s Fair) and evolved into a permanent fixture beneath the Space Needle. The park featured over 20 rides, including the Wild Mouse coaster, a log flume, and the Enterprise—a spinning thrill ride. It also housed indoor attractions like laser tag and arcade games. Despite its nostalgic charm, declining attendance and city redevelopment plans led to its closure in 2010. The site has since been transformed into the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit and public spaces.
